What was one of my favorite weddings from this past year? Well wonder no more.

Working with Michele + Ryan was a dream come true. Their wedding took place at the Old Frankford Church, nestled in historic North Dallas. The community that the church was originally a part of dates back to the 1850s, and it has been restored in more recent years. When I saw the rich mahogany inside the building, I knew that the colors needed to be bold in order to pop.

The best part? They wanted a bold color palette as well. So I took it and ran! The Floral Eclectic created a large floral installation for their ceremony that spanned the entire front of the church, filled with bold blooms and colors galore.

We used the entire rainbow with black as an accent floral-wise! This of course meant using anemone to get a bright color with a stark black center. I oped to use painted greenery and filler floral to get some very saturated color throughout and some adorable coral dahlias added so much texture to every arrangement.

The light and airy feel of the reception hall let the bold color palette shine even brighter. For the reception tables, I designed a combination of floral arrangements as well as cloches with candles + floral accents.

At the head table was elevated through a large arrangement along the floor, and a hanging installation above.

Lastly, we also added floral accents to the cake cutting backdrop and the seating chart.

“When approaching our wedding decor from a cultural aspect, we knew that our florals would be the focal point of our decor/color. My husband and I are minimalists but LOVE boldness. So, the mixing colors of our ancestral counties (Mexico and India) sounded daunting at first but when thought about it at a macro level, we knew we just needed boldness and lots of variety. Taylor’s work was exactly that. She created designs that not only spoke to us from a cultural aspect but also who we are as a colorful couple.

I never would have come across her work had it not been for Artisan Rose Event Co. I searched for forever for a wedding planner who had a romantic eye for design. It was also extremely important for me to see that their work included diverse or interracial couples like my own. I needed to know our family cultures would be in good hands. Once I knew our wedding planner understood what we were about as a couple, then I knew anyone she recommended would be on the same page.”

Even though the colors were incredible, they didn’t even compare to the beauty of the couple. I’m so grateful that I got to work with Michele + Ryan, as they trusted me to truly bring their vision to life!
