They say everything’s bigger in Texas, so Amy and Hunter decided to add BOLD and BRIGHT to the mix! Talk about alliteration. The vibes were luxurious and classic, yet eye-catching and stylish. I loved combining the styles and being a part of this day!
Their beautiful day started at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, with the reception taking place at the iconic Hotel Drover. What’s so iconic about the Hotel Drover, you may ask? For those of you who aren’t from the area, this hotel is located in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
Giddy up because we’re talking cowboys- The Stockyards served as a final rest stop for cattle drovers as they journeyed North through Texas to deliver Longhorn cattle. The Stockyards were also a rest stop on their way back home, bringing about a bustling economy and putting Fort Worth on the map. Today, the Stockyards offer the full western experience with the help of Hotel Drover, offering tours, rodeos, and the finest cowboy boots and hats you could dream of- just to name a few.
You can feel the Western, trailblazing spirit at the Hotel Drover. I knew this venue would give a special opportunity to highlight some truly Texan vibes through the couple’s florals. In addition to the colorful Western inspo, Amy wanted to incorporate something Valentine’s inspired. I got to work and designed everything with cute Valentine’s candy in mind.
For their ceremony, we went with an installation on the altar that complemented the dark wood. The main florals included poppies, ranunculus , allium, anthurium, free spirit roses, clematis, carnations, and some other bright blooms! The bridal bouquet, wedding party flowers, and family details accented the main pieces beautifully.
A sweet detail Amy and Hunter opted for were flower crowns for each of their flower girls! This was a precious detail and added to the adventurous yet classic tone of the day.
Once the ceremony ended, it was time to party it up at the Drover! The indoor dinner seating was unique to work with, as neon lights shone throughout the brick walls. This allowed for the bold-colored table settings to pop, featuring funky bubble candlesticks and various-sized installations throughout.
Even their cake made a statement! The plain white frosting canvas with rich pops of floral was iconic.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Amy’s pink cowboy boots AND hot pink sendoff jacket? So fun, sparkly, and very cupid-esque.
Those are just a few highlights from Amy + Hunter’s very Texan wedding, and I’m proud to have helped their vision come to life. If you’re planning a wedding and want something BOLD and unique, I’m just the florist for you! Let’s plan something magical.
