If you were wondering how to capture The Floral Eclectic into one production, well, you’ve come to the right place!
I’d been wanting a refresher on my branding photos for a minute now, and what better way to do that than to get together with some other creatives and put on a huge styled shoot of citrus, greens, and botanical goodness.
Although I really enjoyed this project and am so thankful for the outcome of it, I want to share why this will be my last styled shoot for a while.
First off, styled shoots definitely have their pros, especially when you’re first starting out. You get content to share for your marketing and socials, experience working with other vendors in your industry, and can build your portfolio.
On the other hand, styled shoots are EXPENSIVE. They require a lot of mental resources with time spent planning and coordinating. Now that I’ve been in business for several years, more than anything I’m proud of my portfolio and have developed a level of expertise that I want to share with my clients. At this point in my business, I would much rather invest the time and money back into my clients, or into my own creative ideas rather than into styled shoots- for now.
All that being said, I am so happy with the outcome of this project and do think it was a great use of my creative resources and finances! Let’s dive in.
Because I wanted this shoot to scream TFE, we went with citrus colors, greens, and CHUNKY blooms. Our blooms included iris, garden roses, spirea, tulips. For the main installation we used pops of sweet potato vine and moss.
Our models Jupiter, Graciana and Riley were RADIANT and captured the vibe so well. For the table scape, we added very luxe rentals + a fauna inspired runner (so TFE). For makeup we added touches of green of course and hair was all about those headpieces.
Now imagine if we got together for this shoot but nobody captured it. Lucky for us, the amazing @ photographer captured everything so beautifully AND @ videographer put together the most amazing video for us.
Again, I’d love to give a HUGE thank you to all of these vendors:
