When Halloween season rolls around, The Floral Eclectic goes WILD.
My house practically becomes a portal to another universe with the amount of Halloween decor I use. I love decorating and celebrating, so today I’m sharing my best home decor tips and tricks!
Customize your decor to your home’s vibe even for holidays!
If your home is bright and colorful, don’t feel pressured to make everything dark for halloween, unless that’s your jam. You can TOTALLY take your current color palette and make your holiday decor work for the way your home already looks.
A light decor color palette for Halloween could include neutral shades of white to beige, with faux bones and ghost-inspired pieces.
If you’ve got warm shades going on, utilize some darker details and autumn tones to create a mysterious look. I’m imagining an eclectic haunted mansion, with gold candle holders and an overall stirring atmosphere.
Finally, the arguably most haunting option would be all the dark blooms. Here’s how to make them unique.
Utilizing Funky Containers
You’d definitely be new around here if you weren’t familiar with my love for cool containers. They can make or break any design, and using them as an eye-catching piece is one of my favorite tricks!
Pretty much any time I leave the house I’m dreaming up something to make with a funky container, and it doesn’t take much for me to create a whole list of them online, either! Here are some of my favorites, linked for your convenience 😉
Take a trip to your local craft store for supplies!
Don’t be afraid of faux florals for DIY purposes- you’ll be able to keep your creation for years to come and have an affordable holiday piece!
I recently gave away this faux Halloween arrangement on Instagram and it’s something fun to replicate! I love browsing at Michael’s through the faux florals to see what they have to work with. Seriously, utilizing your local craft supply store can be such a fun activity to end up with a sweet decoration (or two!)
HERE’S a tutorial of a cloche you can make from home to spook things up. I’ve linked everything you’d need in this list!
