This birthday celebration was designed as a Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired floral moment, blending bold color, graphic contrast, and playful texture. Every arrangement you see in the photos was created to feel whimsical, slightly spooky, and joyfully unexpected. It’s perfect for a celebration that leans into personality and imagination.
As seen in the photos, the florals were designed as grounded installations, placed low and intentionally throughout the space rather than in traditional centerpieces. These arrangements created visual impact without blocking sightlines and allowed the florals to feel immersive.
The installations featured hot pink and coral roses, blush spray roses, lavender stock, hydrangea, and pops of yellow billy balls, anchored with fresh greenery. Flowing fabric draped through the arrangements added movement and softness, creating a ghost-like, floating effect that subtly nodded to the Nightmare Before Christmas theme.
The cake display was one of the strongest design moments. The cake was styled on bold black-and-white plinths, with florals used intentionally at the base and sides to soften the graphic elements.
We incorporated pink garden roses, coral blooms, and textural greenery around the cake, paired with colorful taper candles. The contrast between the playful florals and the high-contrast black-and-white elements created a look that felt spooky, fun, and editorial—very on-theme without being literal.
Simple calla lily arrangements, visible in the photos, were used as accent florals throughout the celebration. Their sculptural shape and clean lines brought a modern edge to the design, balancing the lushness of the larger installations. The calla lilies echoed the darker, more dramatic side of the theme while still fitting seamlessly into the bright color palette.
The overall palette—hot pink, coral, blush, lavender, yellow, black, and white—was intentionally bold and high contrast. This mix allowed the florals to feel playful and vibrant while the styling elements carried the darker, spooky undertones inspired by Nightmare Before Christmas.
This birthday party was a perfect example of how florals can support a theme without costumes or clichés. By focusing on color, contrast, texture, and intentional placement—as shown in the photos—we were able to create a space that felt festive, immersive, and completely custom.
Designing florals for themed celebrations like this is where we thrive. Thoughtful floral design can tell a story, set a mood, and turn a birthday party into an unforgettable experience.
